It appears to me that the fragment is about some kind of test, with students having to demonstrate their understanding (of a statistical concept, if you like...) and teachers A and B judging their test papers (referred to in the text as: 'beoordelingsobjecten, in casu de opstellen')

IMHO, "construct" is not the appropriate term, unless a whole theory is demonstrated - "concept" is less ambitious & i.a.w. my dictionary would be the most adequate...
