Asker: thank you - yes, that's what it is all about, more accureately, about the native Indians. Übergewichtige seems to be not enough in this context. My mistake, I should have explained right away that it is about the food program by the government. (Sorry for my typos in the first posting, I have a new ergonomic keyboard and still have to get used to it ;-)

agree  Irene Schlotter, Dipl.-Übers.: Auf den Begriff 'Fettsäcke' würde ich hier verzichten; 'Übergewichtige' ist völlig ausreichend - und Übergewicht geht hierzulande oft auch mit dem Bezug von Hartz IV bzw. Sozialleistungen/Sozialhilfe einher.

agree  Lonnie Legg: 'Fettsäcke' geht nicht: ist eindeutig pejorativ, der Begriff hier ist eher verniedlichend--und natürlich umgangssprachlich.
