English term or phrase: second cousin once removed
Basically I'm looking to understand the Hebrew terminology used to describe degrees of cousins, i.e. first cousin vs. fourth cousin, as well as 'removed' status which indicated how many generations apart two people's common ancestor are. For example, a first cousin shares the same grandparents, a second cousin shares the same great-grandparents, while a first cousin once-removed would have one person's grandparents be the other person's great-grandparents. It also seems that literally, the term בן דוד would be a first cousin, although it used generically to refer to any cousin. Thank you.
