English term or phrase: unable to keep down fluids
Is without context, just in a list of symptoms. I translated it as הקאה תכופה וחוזרת, but wonder if there is a particular term for this expression in Hebrew.

Hebrew translation:הקאה/ות בעקבות/לאחר/אחרי שתיה/שתיית נוזלים
Explanation:
Yes, I leave you with quite a lot of loose ends there, but I believe your own solution lacks because it may imply vomiting regarless of what the patient does and it doesn't differentiate between fluids and solids.

חוסר יכולת לספוג נוזלים

Explanation:
This is the term I've seen often when the body cannot retain certain things. I believe it's more accurate, though the *outcome* is of course vomitting.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I'm not sure that's what I need - being unable to keep down fluids is a symptom of being unable to absorb liquids. It should be a symptom that a patient can recognize in his condition (it's a text intended for patients)

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
disagree  Odded Leon: lack of absorption will menifest as diarrheawhereas, as far as I know but I'm pretty sure of it, "inability to keep down" is synonymous with vomiting or some kind of reflux response

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
disagree  Odded Leon: Unable to keep the fluids or unable to drink are two different things. The people referred to probably have no problem with the actual act of drinking, only afterwards all the fluids go back up.
