varma वर्मा Explanation: ... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 mins (2018-01-12 14:23:23 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- VARMA is written as वर्मा in Hindi. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2018-01-12 15:29:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Yes we do pronounce R in Hindi, and here it is place above म... as half R. As per English Spelling it shall be written as वरमा, but as per pronunciation is is used half and placed as व(र्)मा which is written as वर्मा -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2018-01-12 15:31:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- eg. For INDRA .. Hindi will be इंद्र and here the R of Indra is placed below द so it is written as इं द( ्र) which becomes इंद्र -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 18 hrs (2018-01-13 08:27:50 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- You can place it on म and it won't be wrong. But that will not look nice. There are certain practices (with all scripts) that develop over a period of time. Probably it is also one of them. |
