English term or phrase: Japanese slang for "tough woman"
I'm interested in Japanese slang. In American English, tough women are called "hens" or "battle-axes". Are these terms used in Japanese?
I was told "oni-baba" is a term used for "a mean, aggressive and overbearing woman". Tough does not neccessariliy mean someone mean or criminal. Is there a more positive term used?
If so, please list as many translations as possible, and please use Romanized Japanese. Thank you.

japanese slang for
男勝り

Explanation:
男勝り (otokomasari) has the connotation of: strong, independent and mannish.

The first character (男), otoko, has the meaning of 'man', the second (勝), masaru, has the meanings of, 'win' and 'prevail'.

So you might say: 'a woman who wants to prevail/or win' or otherwise: 'a strong minded woman'.

"Ama" is also used to call a woman (disrespectfully), but not limitted to tough women..
