Asker: думаю, что смысл здесь такой: довольно часто в экстремальной ситуации человек оказывается человек действует в одиночку/оказывается наедине с собой. вряд ли человек захочет находиться в добровольной изоляции. экстраординарные обстоятельства вынуждают его действовать/бороться за свою жизнь без посторонней помощи. а по вашей логике, если кто-то хочет выжить, то он находится в изоляции. это что - прямая зависимость? человек может хотеть выжить и тогда, когда дом горит и кругом люди, которые его тоже просят о помощи.

Asker: а причем здесь УСТАНОВКА на выживание и как она может привести к изоляции? даже если так, то почему? установка на выживание дает человеку реальную возможность выжить, а не оказаться в изоляции. тем более что его никто не изолирует. setting здесь это условия или обстоятельства, когда человек на грани жизни и смерти.
