Por lo que entiendo, cuando no hay un orden lógico (un vecino lógico) en la transmisión de la información (en el tráfico) dentro de las direcciones de la red, esa estación que "siente" que no tiene alguien "lógico" a quien transmitir debe iniciar un "tanteo" para ver si hay/aparece una nueva dirección que deba/quiera incorporarse. Ese es el Poll for Master (Traffic), una forma de detectar nuevos dispositivos pero que en caso de no existir se verá muy seguramente reflejado en tiempos de retardo y en pérdida de ancho de banda.
