I'm sure this is 'franglais' för 'dans l’hypothèse de', hypothesis used in French far more routinely than in English - but simply meaning scenario or assumption and a source of misplaced obsession for Franco-Irish playwright Samuel Beckett in his stage play of 'Krapp's Last Tape' that culminated in the finale of 'l'hypothèse de l'hypothèse'.
