Dear Shahab Sahib, Thanks for your views. Please scroll below and you'll notice that I have disagreed with 'Sahat" part of your answer. This forum really helps in many ways; otherwise, there might be no need to discuss here in the presence of our national dictionary. National dictionary is also compiled/coined by the human which is not a 'harf e aakhir' like the divine words. I hope it helps.

Dear Irshad Muhammad You are disagree with my answer but now you have added note in your answer that is part of my answer "Mukhalif ghari waari " i had provided this word earlier please see the time of my note and yours . Colleagues have referenced different dictionaries proposing different meanings for the term. They might be correct in the context in which the author may have coined/written the translation.However, they are not 'harf e aakhir" or a divine word. So, literary discussions bring more interesting aspects and should be continued. However, we also have an option of being "Neutral" unless we are 100% reason to be disagreed. Like in my proposed translation, I can provide evidence of usage of this word in the Urdu Physics text books and from other trust worthy sources. I am not sure if there is any option to upload the scanned pages here for the consultation of the colleagues who are disagreed. Hi Qudisa, Try to check with other browser. Their are no special fonts or anything else.

Lenguamundo posted the link to http://www.nlpd.gov.pk/. When I use their dictionary, the resulting Urdu text appears as gibberish on my screen. There are no suggestions of downloading any special fonts etc on the page, and I'm otherwise able to type and read Urdu text on my computer. Could anyone please suggest how to fix this problem?

I agree with you that we don't have to follow dictionaries all the time. But in this particular case your suggestion is misleading. Anticlockwise means opposite to clockwise movement but قوسی شکل کے does not necessarily mean that. ‏Moreover ضد گھڑی وار is widely used term. There is no need to change terms which are already established. It has been used in science books, generals and newspapers and widely understood so why to change such term when it can perfectly conveys the meaning

Please read the provided sentence once again and rethink about your suggested translations. Should we translators have to follow dictionaries all the times? I know what the standard translation for this term, but how can you use your translations in this context?
