Persian (Farsi) term or phrase: کنین
Greetings,

This word, کنین, seems to be used in the collocation "کارواژ کنین", “transitive verb”. I imagine that you use “فعل لازم” more often in this meaning.

But what exactly does کنین mean and how is it pronounced?

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon

Explanation:
It is pronounced as ['kɔ:nin] and as previously cited, it is an informal variation for KONID literally translated as do, perform, make, etc., but it does not carry any specific meaning, but in lack of a simple verb to use, it helps us to make a compound verb.

As most of the verbs in Persian have the structure of "noun/adj.+[proper form from Kon] (as an auxiliary verb)+dependent subject pronoun, there is no need in most cases to translate KON independently and the compound verb can be presented by a simple verb in English.

e.g. سعی کردن is translated to TRY
پنهان کردن is translated to HIDE
