Persian (Farsi) term or phrase: بروی
Greetings,

I quote the Āryānpur Progressive definition of چرخ‌وفلک (top of Page 483, Column 2):

1 - چرخ بزرگ و صندلی‌دار که به دور خود می‌چرخد.
Ferris wheel etc.
2 - حرکت چرخ مانند بروی دشت‌ها و پاها.
cartwheel

My problem is simply this word بروی – what does it mean, please? How is it pronounced? Does it have an extra kasre before it or after it?

NB: in the UK a “Ferris wheel” is known as a “big wheel” – USA English and UK English use totally different words for all the fairground attractions. I say this to prevent confusion.

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon
