Le Bos - Place name

Explanation:
Could refer to "Position/Time" , i.e. "Le Bos at 11.30 hrs"

neutral  Saeed Najmi: Upon reading the discussion entries and realizing this is part of a test report, the likelihood is the target abbreviation refers to the physical position the ''plaque'' was in when tested.

  -> Thank you.

neutral  philgoddard: I don't think the placename is very likely. I can't find anything meaningful about it online, so it must be tiny. Bos could stand for anything.
44 mins
  -> My later note added of 15:05 suggest it could also be company initials or name.

neutral  Bashiqa: Surely the place name would have been "Bos", i.e. capitalised. Why would anyone add information haphazardly? Could just as easily be "The Boss".

  -> If somebody adds info. haphazardly, then its easy to forget capital.// I did NOT say "intentionally". When engineers, doctors etc write reports sometimes, it is well known their writing can be difficult to read & entered badly! (See discussion box above)

B.O.S.

Explanation:
Could it be B.O.S. Bottom of Steel? Following the ideas of an abbreviation and of a position and typing bos in differently, assuming this part of the form continues to be in English and not in French.

neutral  Saeed Najmi: Interesting! It is just that the text is in French unless we are dealing with an abbreviation that is standardized in English internationally.

batch operating system

Explanation:
if, indeed, we are dealing with an English abbreviation or acronym following Position/ Time in the Queen's English, rather than a translation from the original French.

no de lot de fabrication denotes a manufacturing - rather than computer - batch no.

Otherwise, could be a business operating system, as per the Oxford Dictionary of abbreviations.

Example sentence(s):
  • There is a lack of interaction between a user and his job. In batch operating system, Once a batch is submitted for execution, the user is not able to interact with any of his jobs.
