French term or phrase: Auditeurs
Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to distinguish "auditeurs" from "commissaires aux comptes". "Auditors" and "statutory auditors"? The context is:

L'entreprise s'engage a communiquer l'information à son courtier d'assurance, à ses conseils juridiques, à ses commissaires aux comptes, à ses auditeurs et aux organismes fiscaux et sociaux en cas de contrôle.

Cheers,
Nick

Auditeur
Non-statutory auditor

Explanation:
optionally engaged and non-mandatory, as suggested by Smu's weblink referring to 'facultatif' and vs. statutory auditor for commissaire aux comptes, as mentioned by the question itself.

Example sentence(s):
  • An auditor must only be appointed by commercial companies that exceed at least two of the three thresholds requiring the appointment of a statutory auditor (i.e. 1. turnover of 8 million Euros, 2. total balance sheet of 4 million Euros 3. 50 employe

Probably best to leave "statutory" out of it in my opinion, keep it simple, as your audience will understand the set-up anyway.
