Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) / real estate contract
French term or phrase: comparution
"XX: a le sens défini dans la comparution des Parties en tête du Pacte."

I saw the other entry about "comparution", but that does not seem to fit this context, and i also have "en tête du Pacte". I was thinking of something like "has the meaning defined in the section identifying the Parties at the beginning of the Agreement", but I'm sure there must be a more standard way of saying this in English legal documents...

PS - this is a contract, and "comparution" has nothing to do with appearing in person in the document.

There are various ways of saying this, I don't think you need to get worried about the standard way, because there is none, as far as I'm aware.

party-related recital/s

Explanation:
It's risky claiming comparution has nothing to do with physical attendance cf. 'reunidos' and 'comparencia' in ESP, as a company can still 'attend' and *join in the contract or deed* vicariously through its agents and officers.

I don't recall from the drafting of Purchase Deeds of UK unregistered land - transfer froms of regd. land are geneally one-liners - anything other than recitals of the parties and of the background vs. particulars of the land itself.

...transfer forms of regd. land are generally one-liners...

Example sentence(s):
  • The recitals give background information about the parties, about the context of the agreement and an introduction to the agreement itself. .
  • Party-related recitals: one or more whereas clauses can reflect the relevant business activities of each party.
