French term or phrase: Force tranquille
Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a proper way to translate in English the french expression "force tranquille".
This is part of a description of a company where each team member is described.
I was thinking maybe of gentle strength? But what verb would I be using? Clément is a gentle strength? This doesn't make sense.
Clément is strong but gentle?
Any idea?
Thanks!

soft power

Explanation:
Même si ce terme est le plus souvent utilisé dans un autre contexte, en ajoutant "a kind of..." je pense que ça pourrait convenir.

quietly projects strength

Explanation:
There lots of viable translations. if you want to depart slightly from the source, you could translate it as "quiet assurance or self-confidence".

a quiet force of nature

Just because there are two words in the source, it doesn't mean you are retricted to two in the target -- be creative!

Unless the man is in sports, you can't say "quiet power", "quiet force" and "quiet strength", they just don't sound right.

agree  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: Way to go. Something along these lines is going to have an authentic ring in English. The nouns can be somewhere but the feeling and intent can be borne by the verb, at least in part, more often than it would in French. I don't like "unflappably" tho".
