vesting assent
Explanation:
Speculatively, this *sale of an usufruct* could be an 'equity release' / nest-egg scenario for the widow.

I don't think the retirement components needs (to) be spelled out.

Required for a settlement of land in E&W: a trust deed and a vesting assent (award or 'adjudication' of property by the PRs > personal representatives to a beneficiary).

PS I avoided a more literal translation (?) of 'probate conveyance' as it's too close to a probate sale, that is usually outside of the family, plus probate North of the Border is called (Letters of) Confirmation.

OK, Mpoma. Perhaps, for the retrait (and not retraite) word, preface with 'disclaimer-cum-vesting assent' (a coparceners' / co-heirs' surrender of their contingent interest on the inheritance?). We need, though, to find out the terms of the deed to nail who is doing the 'withdrawal'.

The capital gains tax prelude of Impôt sur la plus-value suggests there is a tax exemption for the 'disclaimer' or 'surrender', so making Bridge's 'novation' (substitution of parties) idea of 'retrait' fit by default cf. the 'retrait successoral' entry overleaf of the right of the co-heirs to exclude a purchaser by refunding the purchase price.

Lastly, with no ref. to the term of retrait in my copy of Testaments et Donations, Delmas, there is retrait d'indivision in lexique de termes juridiques fr. - namely the wife's right to substitute herself for her husband in a joint ownership ('joint tenancy') of a building - but that had been abolished by an Act going back to 1965, way before these dealings..

Notes to answerer
Asker: This fits very nicely. Regarding Sylvie Le Bras' answer, I have no reason to believe that an SCI is involved, although her link would be persuasive in another context. The slight problem I have with your answer is that you haven't linked to anywhere which suggests that this phrase, or the word "retrait" on its own, actually corresponds to the "vesting assent" scenario. I don't think the Bridge definition I put at the end really fits...

agree  Michael Grabczan-Grabowski: I think you hit the nail on the head. Good one! Vesting assent (as opposed to a mere conveyance) seems perfect here, as the text refers to the death of Monsieur CCC and the transfer of the property to the VENDEUR's estate. Not a lot of context otherwise.

-> Thanks, Michael- I forgot to add that estate is meant here as an estate in land, as in privity of estate vs. contract, rather than a housing estate or our block of flats.....

agree  AllegroTrans: Speculatively, mmm, yes

-> Thanks again. There seems to be a two-stage process of retrait and attribution, I getting caught trying to gloss over the first part.
