Les relations sacrificielles qu'initient les populations avec les génies varient entre les groupes ethniques, et selon les aspects de la vie collective d'une localité. En général, elles ont pour objectifs :

• l’accès à la terre (pour fonder et pour cultiver/planter) et le prélèvement des ressources présentes sur le site et dans l’espace territorial associé (eau, bois de chauffe, fruits, plantes, animaux, etc.) ;
• l’assurance d’une cohabitation pacifique entre les hommes et les génies « logés » dans le site dont dépend étroitement la prospérité du village (possibilité pour les hommes de mener les activités nécessaires à leur survie, absence de maladies ou d’accidents, de sorciers, etc.) ; et
• la sollicitation de l’aide des génies pour un projet collectif (construction d’infrastructures villageoises, protection contre des épidémies, sollicitation des pluies, réussite des récoltes, etc.) ou individuel (voyage, entreprise personnelle, guérison, fertilité, emploi, etc.).

Who are the "génies"? As in spirits/primitive gods or as in some other sense? It makes all the difference in this context.

  -> I have no idea at all why you entered a peer comment, Phil. This was a simple question (admittedly, posted in the wrong place) to the asker.
neutral  Daryo: a clue: "cultural heritage in Guinea" /unlikely to have anything to do with "génie civil" or similar .../

  -> I quite agree that "génie civil" is not the meaning. I would have thought that much was blindingly obvious.
