I'm (hurriedly) looking for an appropriate understanding and translation of the term
業務の一旦.

I can find several examples of this in use on the web, but I'm not entirely clear of the meaning. Does it mean something like assuming general responsibility for particular duties? Thanks in advance, much appreciate any help.

Asker: This error is so prevalent on the web I had trouble believing this at first, but yes, that seems to be the case. Had I done the right Google search this might have been more evident to me. Thank you! Showing results for 一端を担う Search instead for 一旦を担う 「一端を担う」の意味は「責任や役目の一部を負っている」です。 また、「ある事物について、部分的に関与している」という意味をもっている言葉です。 「一端」は文字通り「棒の両端の一つ」を意味しています。”どちらかが欠けてしまっては大変だ”というニュアンスで、基本的に良い意味で使われます。Jun 2, 2020
