Norwegian to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Computers: Software / financial software function
Norwegian term or phrase: Avg.
I'm asking this in case anyone has an idea as to what function this abbreviation could mean. It's for banking software, part of 'struktur på rammverkkstabellen', and is in the column headed 'Funksjon'.
Column is: Min, Max, **Avg**, Sum, Maske på: Maks 4 bokstaver.
If no-one has any idea what it could be, I'll have to ask the client. TIA.

Average

Language variant: gjennomsnitt (Norwegian)

Explanation:
When grouped with the English abbreviations "min, max, sum," "avg" must be an abbreviation for "average." I understand that your source may be Norwegian but you explain that is actually mixed. This must be some English. Looks like it might have come from a spreadsheet where the "Funksjon" column that lists mathematical values in English abbreviations with min(minimum/minimum), max(maximum/maksimum), sum (sum/sum), and avg (average/gjennomsnitt).

Example sentence(s):
  • The avg. of 2 + 4 + 6 is 12/3 or 4.
