Norwegian term or phrase: Oppfølgingsansvarlig
Any suggestions/help most welcome for this term. It is in a table, so not really a lot of context, but I think it means the person responsible for monitoring the security requirements for a system, or for monitoring the system itself. Does this sound plausible? Is it less of a specific job and more a description of a responsibility/activity? If my thoughts are correct, would a (not great) translation be 'Individual responsible for monitoring"? Any better/alternative suggestions would be great.

Asker: Thanks for the suggestion - is helpful, not least as it is far shorter! Am wondering whether just 'monitoring employee' is sufficient. Thanks!

follow-up supervisor

Explanation:
There are SO many ways of saying this. Ansvarlig is awkward at the outset, as it is an adjective, not a noun. It is up to the organisation whether the 'ansvarlig' person is also the executing person, or merely a monitoring (continuously) or QA (final checking) person. I think this ambiguity is nicely carried over in the supervisor word - could be a doer or a checker either way.

Asker: Thanks for this and for your comments! I've closed without selecting an answer as, as you said, there are lots of ways of translating it, and the right answer depends on context. Thanks again!

(Den) Oppfølgingsansvarlig(e)
Progress (chaser) chasing

Explanation:
Agreeing with Per B's adjectival vs. noun point, I have usually seen the person qualified with a def. or indef. article.

'Chaser' gets round the supervisor vs. officer vs. commissioner conundrum cf. le or la resposnable in FRE.

Example sentence(s):
  • Assisterende avdelingsdirektør må ha god oversikt over avdelingens arbeidsområder og være *resultat- og oppfølgingsansvarlig* for deler av avdelingens portefølje og ha personalansvar for justeamet.

Asker: Thank you for this - a great idiomatic translation. I have closed without selecting a specific answer as the correct answer is so situation-dependent. Thanks again!
