agree  Per Bergvall: Conscription also used, for the act of calling someone to compulsory military duty. Note also that it is compulsory only for males. Finally, fyrstegongsteneste is Norwegian Nynorsk; the far more used Norwegian Bokmål eqiuivalent is førstegangstjeneste.
