It has now been confirmed by the original client that Snefrid is indeed a real person - but the various answers have been fascinating!

neutral  Sven Petersson: It is indeed a proper name, but who will get the message?

-> I don't actually get the message myself, if indeed there is one.

agree  Charlesp: I agree(with both comments) - I'll add though that pehaps the name is meant to imply accepting of reality (?? - for a guess.)

rainmaker

Explanation:
A wee witch who controlled the king. Please see reference! In your context I think "rainmaker" fits better than "wee witch".

Marcie

Explanation:
Snefrid is a character in the Peanuts cartoons by Charles Schulz. I think the name used in the original American version is Marcie. Even if this is what is referred to, this may of course not be the best way of translating it.

\"Marcie is the smartest of the Peanuts gang, but also the most naive. She\'s always willing to help out her friend with school work and she\'s not above sharing test answers or calling her on the phone to remind her of homework assignments.\"

PS The Peanuts comic strip is enormously popular in Norway and the Norwegian names of the characters are household names here. The name Snefrid is not otherwise in common use.
