intransitive reading/perception Explanation: I'd probably use the later term, like in the example below: What Bullough calls aesthetic distance, other philosophers have spoken of as disinterested attention (Stolnitz) or intransitive perception (Vivas), which consists in looking at an object for no reason. But literal iintransitive reading should work as well (?) |
