Spanish term or phrase: valorizar nuevas fracciones

¿Podría ser "assessing new sections/divisions???"

¿Alguna sugerencia?

Gracias!

Valorisation of by-products or waste-streams
Explanation:
From what I can glean this is about a fish processing company who claim to have succeeded in utilising (or finding customers that will utilise) 100% of the raw materials from the fish that are supplied to its factories. 45% of it is used for human consumption and pet consumption through the it's own brands and pet food. 35% (eg fishmeal and fish oils) is taken by the aquaculture sector and other related industries, and the remaining 20% goes to new recovery processes to produce products for pharmaceutical or cosmetic industries.

This is called valorisation of by-products or waste-streams whereby the by-products and/or waste are converted into high added-value products for market applications. This is described in the following reference from the European Commission https://cordis.europa.eu/programme/id/H2020_BBI-2016-F01 and in https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S002203021... (relating to the milk industry), and also https://www.ellenmacarthurfoundation.org/assets/downloads/pu... .

agree  AllegroTrans: OK but surely "development" would work for "valorisation"?

  -> Thanks AllegroTrans. By-products and waste could be developed in many ways but not all of these developments will convert them into added-value products and make a profit. That - I believe - is the distinction between valorisation and development.

se focaliza en valorizar nuevas fracciones
focus/s/es on cycling new waste fractions

Explanation:
If the 'fractions' are new, they would anyway be cycled rather than recycled or marshalled or harnessed - aprovechado - in a non-literal sense.

Valorizar rarely means to value ror assess, at least not in this context.

Valoris/zation, I would suggest, is EU-speak, so is questionable post-Brexit.

Example sentence(s):
  • IATE: FRE/ENG fr valoriser COM en to upgrade COM
  • IATE: building and public works (6831) [INDUSTRY] COM es rechazo COM retenido COM fracción retenida por el tamiz COM en retained fraction COM oversize COM materials COM rejects COM
