elicitor capacity Explanation: Preparation, Characterization, and In Vitro Testing of Nanoclay Antimicrobial Activities and Elicitor Capacity https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29509416/ -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 19 mins (2021-04-09 14:59:28 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Elicitors induce the hypersensitivity response An elicitor is a molecule that triggers the hypersensitivity response in the plant. Elicitors are very diverse molecules without any chemical similarity, except that they trigger the hypersensitivity response (Table 10.6). In some cases these elicitors are formed when plant-derived enzymes degrade fungal cell walls. For example, a beta-linked heptaglucoside has been shown to be a highly effective elicitor of the hypersensitivity response in soybean roots infected with the root-rotting fungus Phytophthora megasperma. In other cases, elicitors are derived from the degradation of the host plant cell wall. https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/agricultural-and-biolog... https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29509416/ |
