Explanation:
I know that the Spanish has "adversidades," but I really don't think that either "adversities" or "adverse circumstances" is entirely natural in English. If you want to stay with some form of the English cognate, then perhaps "We've been through a good deal of adversity" could work here. "Cientos" should also not be translated literally here.

I also don't think that either "hardships" or "calamities" really quite cut it here....
