Spanish term or phrase: repliegue
El segundo tipo de sismos se denominan corticales o sismos de corteza, producidos debido al repliegue de la placa Continental y generalmente están asociados a fallas geológicas, actividad volcánica o cambios bruscos de los esfuerzos en la corteza terrestre.

folding
Explanation:
I believe it refers to "folding" here.

Continued displacement on a thrust over a ramp produces a characteristic fold geometry known as a ramp anticline or, more generally, as a fault-bend fold.
...
Thrust faults occur in the foreland basin which occur marginal to orogenic belts. Here, compression does not result in appreciable mountain building, which is mostly accommodated by folding and stacking of thrusts.

agree  Toni Castano: "Fold/folding" goes in the right direction, true, but somehow we need to distinguish between "pliegue" and "repliegue", being the latter not quite the same as the former. I think I shall post an explanatory reference.

-> Thanks, Toni, I wasn't aware of that difference, so I'm grateful for your clarification. However, I'm not sure the source text is making that distinction here, rather, it seems to me to be denoting an action, i.e. "folding."

minor fold

Explanation:
I think Toni was headed in the right direction. "Minor fold" is perfectly acceptable for use in describing complex, multi-episodic deformation.
There is an example here, where we can see the larger folding, with smaller-scale folding on the limbs of the larger folds:
