Spanish term or phrase: plumas de ceniza
This is an artist from Peru describing her works that make use of archival images of natural phenomena:
El paisaje natural aparece cautivante y a su vez salvaje, de una magnitud mucho mayor, que no obedece a las fuerzas humanas y por ende, resulta asombroso y desconocido. Este es el caso de obras que muestran imágenes de las plumas de ceniza de erupciones volcánicas fusionadas con grandes cataratas o tormentas tropicales

I am wondering if its is clouds of ash in English?
Thanks

plumes of ash

Explanation:
Hawaii's Kilauea volcano erupts, releasing 30,000ft plume of ash

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/may/17/hawaiis-kila...

The plume of ash and steam rising from the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano reached five to six kilometers (17,000 to 20,000 feet) into the atmosphere on May 10, 2010, when the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite captured this image. The ash is blowing southeast over the North Atlantic Ocean. Volcanic ash from previous days closed airports in Ireland and Portugal on May 10, said CNN.

Plumes of ash

Explanation:
I just replied that I agreed with you - clouds of ash. However have just found this "When an ash column is moved about by wind, it is called an ash plume. Eventually the ash in the sky falls to the ground. It may create a thick layer of dust-like material on surfaces for miles around the original eruption"
