Spanish term or phrase: colada
From a manual concerning the production of cast pieces for use in the railway industry:

and later

As I understand it, the "colada" is the pouring of molten metal into the mold. I've seen it in these glossaries as "tapping" and "sprue" but I don't think that is right here, and as "casting" but that wouldn't work in my case (see the last sentence)

English translation:melt (n.)
Explanation:
'colada' is the batch of liquid metal, not (as suggested by William in his question) the 'the pouring of molten metal into the mold'.

neutral  Jaime Blank: "Melting" only for the first 2 or 3 instances of "colada" in the context provided ... for the last one I would use "cast". (sorry, missed the "neutral")

foundry batch

Explanation:

neutral  Jennifer Levey: A 'batch', as per your explanation and refs. corresponds to numerous "coladas/cucharas" (= 'sub-batches') - and 'colada' is the term of the Kuestion, not 'lote' (=batch).//Note also that the 2nd ST extract refers to 'fundición' (= 'batch').
