Asker, you have said "Land Registry" but beware this might be about the Cadastral Register which is not the same thing.

compare in FRE publicité foncière simply meaning *land* registration.

Open to public inspection is implied.

Note that - contrary to the UK Govt's Probate website - 'publication' of a Last Will and Testament, by the UK Wills Act 1837, means the testator or testatrix showing such to witnessess, rather than the publicising of the document on probate registration to become thereafter a 'public document'..

neutral  philgoddard: If it wasn't open to public inspection, there wouldn't be much point in having it :-) // But it doesn't say anything about notarial registers, it's the land register.
