clarifying why not include "holy" in this context 23:22 Jan 28, 2020
1. It is not in the source. 2. Even though Christians reverence God and acknowledge Him as holy, we should not impose our beliefs in our translations, with or w/o (), when the source alludes to His Word, nature, etc., because that would be mixing holy with unholy. Taking only a portion and adding other junk leads in a different direction that has nothing to do with Him and His ways. There are a lot of writings, art pieces, etc. that incorporate something about Him, but they twist ideas and add other things that are not of His Spirit. Magic, animism, and other concepts included in the mysticism of Varo and de Bingen do not line up with the holiness of God the Creator, the One who sent Jesus and the Holy Spirit for His purpose. That is why I was so insistent. |
