Spanish term or phrase: villa termal
El termalismo está tan presente en las páginas de la historia de Caldas que hasta su nombre reflejó siempre este fenómeno, pues el agua minero-medicinal es el recurso más importante en el nacimiento y desarrollo del pueblo. Además de la fuente pública de Las Burgas, ***la villa termal*** cuenta con dos balnearios: el Balneario Acuña y el Balneario Dávila.

I have checked the term "villa" in kudo glossaries and the translation is Villa, but there is no context. I wonder if it is possible to leave it like that in this expression "thermal villa" or there is a better possibility.

Any suggestions?

Tnank you!

English translation:spa town
Explanation:
I've seen references to 'thermal town' but I believe those are mostly direct translations from other languages. The usual term would be 'spa town'.

A 'villa' is a house in English but here the Spanish 'villa' describes a town - so that won't work.

This British pilgrim describes Caldas de Reis as a spa town:
"We set off from the fine city of Pontevedra at 8.50 am this morning to make our way to the spa town of Caldas de Reis, which we managed to reach before two o’clock this afternoon."
https://lisasgift.org.uk/camino-portugues-day-10-pontevedra-...

And so does this (British?) hiker:
"Walking through fields of crops you eventually reach the pretty spa town of Caldas de Reis."

Wikipedia:
"A spa town is a resort town based on a mineral spa (a developed mineral spring)."

I was actually going to suggest 'spa town' then I googled 'thermal town' - which sounds strange to me - and found that there is an assocation:

The European Association of Historic Thermal Towns (EHTTA)
https://ehtta.eu/portal/the-european-route-of-historic-therm...

My feeling is you could use either 'spa town' or 'thermal town' whichever you prefer, but maybe 'thermal town' is better if you are going to translate balneario as spa later on in the sentence.

spa complex / thermal spa

Explanation:
I believe it refers to a thermal spa hotel/resort. Las Caldas Villa Termal comes up quite a lot in Google and has been translated on a tourism website as Las Caldas Spa Complex.

hot springs

Explanation:
Así en plural se sabe que se trata de un conjunto de termas. Si quieres se trata de un complejo más estructurado, se puede decir "Hot Springs Resort"

agree  Megan Smith: places with hot springs are generally referred to this way, I've never heard "thermal town" or "spa town" in the US, but "hot springs" very often.
