Swedish term
aspirationsprincipen
Swedish to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
Used in referring to a sentencing proposal. Other examples from different sources:

US: adjusted, combined offense-level principle UK: discounted sentencing tariff 'sweep-up' policy
A discounted tariff in UK criminal law is generally available for a guilty plea cf. och sedan reduceras straffvärdet på resterande brott..
My hunch is that aspiration is referring to the 'consuming, sweeping or sucking up' of various sentences in one fell swoop.
A related issue: sentencing on a UK joined USA joint charge or indictment of a *nexus of linked offenc/ses.*
A combined sentence or combination order in the UK refers to combining different types of punishment.

I now have a horrible feeling - after checking my German law glossaries - that aspiration is a mis-spelling for 'asperation' > still a 'mopping-up of multiple offences' but from 'asperis' meaning made bitter or aggravated. There's a connected 'Asperation' doctrine in DEU / CH law of Tatmehrheit or Real- vs. Idealkonkurrenz and concurso real vs. ideal n SPA.
IATE: al law (1216) [LAW] CJUE de Realkonkurrenz CJUE Tatmehrheit preferred en multiple offences committed by multiple acts CJUE several separate acts punishable under the criminal law
'Das *Asperationsprinzip* kommt nur zur Anwendung, wenn das Gericht im konkreten Fall für jeden einzelnen Normverstoss gleichartige Strafen ausfällt' 'The principle of asperation applies only if and when the court metes out similar penalties in a specific case for each and every contravention of an enactment' https://www.strafprozess.ch/gesamtstrafe/
- so, as multiply repeated offenc/ses, the jointly low-level chargeable or serious, indictable counts qualify for a lower overall sentencing tariff
compare Idealkonkurrenz or concurso ideal: several offenc/ses committed by a single act https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/law-general/16...

Example sentence:
USA: The combined length of the sentences ("total punishment") is determined by the court after determining the adjusted combined offense level and the Criminal History Category and determining the defendant's guideline range on the Sentencing Table
USA: In a case in which subsection (c) of §4B1.1 (Career Offender) applies, to the extent possible, the total punishment is to be apportioned among the counts of conviction,
