A l’image du traité transatlantique qui fait débat en Europe et aux Etats-Unis, l’accord de partenariat transpacifique (ou Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement en anglais, souvent abrégé en TTPA ou TTP) est sur le point de décider du sort d’une dizaine de pays côtiers de l’Océan Pacifique, et ce dans un contexte où règne l’omertá que s’imposent les différentes parties ne souhaitant guère ébruiter les négociations qu’elles mènent. Mais contrairement au premier qui piétine grâce à la mobilisation des opinions publiques, cet accord semble en bonne voie d’aboutir dans les mois à venir. Débutées il y a 5 ans, ces négociations concernant un accord de libre-échange d’envergure inédite pourraient être conclues dans les prochains mois.
Du fait de la loi du silence qui règne à ce sujet, peu d’informations ont fuitées concernant le traité et les négociations qui l’entourent. On sait néanmoins qu’il s’agit d’un accord de partenariat commercial qui pourrait à terme lier 12 pays de la rive Pacifique (Australie, Brunei, Canada, Chili, Etats-Unis, Malaisie, Mexique, Nouvelle-Zélande, Pérou, Singapour, Vietnam, récemment rejoints par le Japon), une zone qui enregistre 40% de l’activité économique mondiale. Cela aurait pour conséquence, si les négociations allaient jusqu’à leur aboutissement, de déboucher sur le plus grand accord de partenariat commercial au monde. In modo simile al partenariato transatlantico che fa discutere in Europa e negli USA, l'accordo di partenariato transpacifico (o Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement in inglese, spesso abbreviato in TTPA o TTP) decreterà la sorte di una decina di Paesi che si affacciano sull'Oceano Pacifico, in un contesto in cui regna l'omertà e in cui le varie parti non vogliono fornire informazioni sui negoziati che stanno conducendo. Ma contrariamente al partenariato transatlantico che sembra procedere a rilento per via della mobilitazione dell’opinione pubblica, questo accordo sembra destinato a concludersi nei prossimi mesi. I negoziati, iniziati 5 anni fa e relativi a un accordo di libero-scambio di portata senza precedenti, potrebbero essere conclusi nei prossimi mesi.
Per via del silenzio che regna intorno a questo argomento, sono trapelate poche informazioni in merito al trattato e ai suoi negoziati. Si sa tuttavia che si tratta di un accordo di partenariato commerciale che potrebbe vincolare 12 Paesi che si affacciano sul Pacifico (Australia, Brunei, Canada, Cile, USA, Malesia, Messico, Nuova Zelanda, Perù, Singapore, Vietnam, e recentemente anche il Giappone), vale a dire un'area che rappresenta il 40% delle attività economiche mondiali. Per questo, la stipulazione di un accordo con questi negoziati creerebbe il più grande partenariato commerciale al mondo. I am a native Italian freelance translator working with English and French.
So far, I have mainly worked on texts from EU institutions (more than 2,000 pages translated or proofread for them) as well as on technical (e.g. user and workshop manuals), legal (e.g. policies, contracts) and marketing (e.g. e-commerce webpages) texts.
I would like to point out that I am member of SFT, French translator association, and of AITI, Italian translator association, as well as that I am a registered translator at the Court of Mantova (Italy) and I am holder of a professional liability insurance.
As regards the software I use, my PCs run with Windows and I usually work with CAT tools such as SDL Trados Studio 2017 and Memsource Personal. If other software is needed, please let me know, I will be happy to meet the customer needs.
