Bio

Hi! I’m Gonzalo. I’m a professional English into Spanish translator specializing in Game Localization. I’m a native Spanish speaker and I live in Argentina. I’ve been translating since before I got my academic degree, and playing video games since… well, since I was able to hold a joystick.

Both as an in-house and freelance translator, I’ve been able to participate in a great number of projects. In this journey, I’ve been able to master most tools and grasp best practices. I am constantly training and taking courses on translation and creative writing. Also, when I'm not translating, I'm gaming.

My career and my education have led me to consider video games as the most complex art form of our time. They encompass literary genres, pop culture, new worlds, revolutionary storytelling and even linguist theories at work. It’s the most authentic platform on which the addressee can become a speaker, an agent, a hero of the story.

I believe these unique properties seduce particularly demanding players. Gamers don’t forgive mediocrity and do know how to appreciate quality. Having them always in mind is crucial for a well-developed game. And localization is no exception. This is where my skills come into play. In addition to my translation expertise, I’m also detail-oriented, a fast learner and a computer power user.

My clients appreciate my reliability with deadlines and quality, as well as my professionalism and willingness to accommodate their every need. Being an enthusiast of this field, I will handle your texts with ease, pleasure, and expertise.

In the description, you can find my contact information. If you struggle to remember my name, just think of my initials, GLD, which coincide with the service I provide: Game Localization Deeds. I look forward to working with you.
