Regarding the World Cup I’m not a football fan so I might just watch the final game. Regarding the Olympics I love watching women’s artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, athletics, diving, equestrian dressage, handball, swimming, trampoline and triathlon. Because of the time difference (8 hours) I’ve been rewinding the recording and watching what interests me while I make and eat my breakfast and then when I have the time I’ll watch some replays on Eurosport. | | | Mario Freitas Brazil Local time: 10:30 Member (2014) English to Portuguese + ... So here is one more excuse not to work. My collection already has about 20 items, I think. Polls like do you work in the weekends, in your birthday, when you have a cold, more than 6 hours a day... and now during the World Cup or Olympics.
It will be no surpirse to see something like "do you work less when the price of the cucumber raises in Zimbabwe?". | | | Kevin Fulton United States Local time: 08:30 German to English Time shifting | Aug 1, 2021 |
Technology today allows you to follow television programs on your own schedule, so there's no reason to let your desire to follow Olympic skateboarding or 3×3 basketball interfere with work. | |

I haven't watched the Olympics one single second, since I've seen on the Internet and national news how the athletes have gone out of their way to politicize them. It seems that most sports here in the US have become just that, politicized, and their revenue has dropped quite a bit because fans want to have a good time (and they have to pay big bucks for that and all the junk food they consume at the stadiums) and get away from politics for a while, instead of watch players make personal politic... The players are being disrespectful, no matter how one looks at it. They are acting, in some cases, like overpaid, spoiled brats. Grow up, already! And the latest thing is for them to tell us about all of their mental health issues! Well, hmm... LOL. Anyway, I'm too busy translating a book to watch much of anything right now.

I've been working less than usual, but not because of the Olympics, because this is a time of year when I normally have less work than usual.
Greece pretty much shuts down from the end of July to the end of August, as everybody is on holiday. | | | Same as usual | Aug 2, 2021 |
This year. This is the first Olympics that I've missed, though I did watch the opening ceremony. I have a huge translation job and so much other stuff on my plate right now that I just didn't have the time. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: Do you work less during the World Cup or the Olympics?
