English to Serbian: Japanese Investment in Europe General field: Bus/Financial Detailed field: Economics
Source text - English It is important to review briefly the development of foreign direct investment in Japan for three main reasons. First, official policy towards inward direct investment has been linked to the industrial development of the domestic economy, and thus highlights again the macroeconomic considerations which promoted outward direct investment. In particular, policy on both inward and outward direct investment has tended to reflect the balance of payments situation. Second, restrictions, both real and perceived, on inward investment and general access to the Japanese market have reinforced the trade friction between Japan, the United States and Western Europe over the years. And third, increased inward investment will be an important ingredient of the further internationalisation of the Japanese economy and its integration into the global economy.
