Source text - English Throwing coins into well…!! Once in a city lived a very successful businessman. His only son who was still a young boy was lazy and fun loving. His son used to spend money with free hands and never even did any help in any work at home. Businessman wanted his son to learn about value of labor. So one day he called his son and said, "from today onward you will be given meals at night only if you will bring some earning for that day". First boy was confused but when he saw his father's serious face he knew how serious was about what he said. Boy got scared and went to his mother. Boy told everything about this to his mother. Mother didn't wanted her boy to get troubled or skip his night meal. So that day she gave him a gold coin. At night on dinner table when asked son about his earning for day. Boy promptly presented him that gold coin. Seeing that gold coin father understood that he didn't earn that money. He asked boy to threw that coin into the well in the courtyard. Without any hesitation boy went out and threw that coin into well and then had his meal. Next day early in morning father sent his wife out of town to her parent's house. When boy woke up father reminded boy about condition for night meal and also told him about mother's trip to her parents house. Knowing that mother is not there to give him money, he went to his grandfather. Grandfather gave him some coins. At night father asked him about money, boy gave him coins. He again asked him to throw those coins into well. Again without hesitating boy threw those coins into well and came back to dinner table for meal. Father knew that their was no one else who could gave him money. So before going to bed he went to grandfather and told him about condition. Grandfather understood and next day want out so that boy don't come to him for money.	Translation - Arabic رمي قطعة النقود في البئر للمؤلف: جيرك هلموز- ترجمة : بسام غازي عاش رجل اعمال ناجح في احدى المدن التجارية الكبيرة مع زوجته وابنه الذي اعتاد على الكسل وأسلوب العيش الرغيد اذ كان يقضي معظم اوقاته في اللهو والمرح ويقتني كل ما يريد من غير تعب او جهد، ولم يفكر يوماً في تقديم المساعدة لأحد افراد عائلته او الاعتماد على نفسه. قلق الرجل كثيراً بشأن مستقبل ولده المدلل وفكّر في ايجاد طريقة تجعله قادراً على تحمل المسؤولية وتجاوز عقبات الحياة والاعتماد على ذاته، وفي احد الايام خطرت له فكرة قد تثير لدى ابنه الكسول الشعور بالمسؤولية، وقال له: من الان فصاعداً ستحصل على وجبات طعام وفي المقابل عليك ان تقدم لنا قطعة ذهبية كل يوم. أصيب الولد بالذهول عندما رأى ان والده جاداً في كلامه، وتملكته الحيرة حيال هذا الامر، فانطلق مسرعاً الى امه واخبرها بالامر. لكنها هوّنت عليه الامر ولم ترغب في ان يفوّت ابنها وجبة طعام ولو واحدة خاصة انه غير معتاد على خشونة الحياة والنوم على معدة فارغة، لذلك اعطته قطعة ذهبية ليسكت بها مطلب الاب. وعند المساء جلست العائلة على مائدة العشاء سأل الوالد ابنه فيما اذا كسب اليوم قطعة ذهبية، اجابه الولد بكل ثقة وسرور: نعم، واعطاه اياها، اخذ الاب القطعة الذهبية ورماها من النافذة، ثم اَذِنَ للفتى بتناول طعامه. وفي اليوم التالي ارسل الرجل زوجته لرؤية والديها خارج المدينة، وبحث الابن المدلل عن امه لكنه لم يجدها فأخبره الاب بأنها في رحلة لزيارة ابويها، احتار الابن في كيفية الحصول على قطعة ذهبية اخرى بعد غياب والدته اذ كانت امه تعطيه ما يريد وبقدر ما يشاء، وقال مع نفسه... سأذهب الى جدي واطلب منه ان يعطيني قطعة ذهبية، وحصل ما أراد، وفي المساء سأله الاب عن أجرته، فقال الفتى: هذه القطعة الذهبية يا ابي، فأخذها منه على الفور ورماها في البئر وعادوا الى عشائهم. وفي اليوم التالي ذهب الجد الى منزله في احدى القرى المجاورة للمدينة، ادرك الفتى انه لم يعد هناك من يلجأ اليه ويقدم له النقود وينجيه من الالتزام الذي فرضه عليه والده، فكّر الفتى مجدداً عما سيفعله اليوم وادرك انه لا مناص من البحث عن عمل ما، قصد السوق وظل يبحث عن عمل في الأسواق حتى وجد عمل في متجر للبقالة، اذ طلب منه صاحب العمل بتفريغ عربة مليئة بالبضائع لقاء مبلغ من المال، لم يكن من خيار لدى الصبي سوى القبول بذلك العمل، وبعدما انتهى من عمله عاد منهكاً القوى، متسخ الثياب، والاوجاع اصابت جسده من رأسه وحتى قدميه، فهي المرة الأولى التي يخرج فيها للعمل ويجابه صعاب الحياة. وعند حلول المساء، سأل الاب عن الاجر الذي كسبه الفتى وهي 10 شلنات، سلّم الفتى بتثاقل النقود الى الاب ، نظر اليها الاب بتأني واعادها أيها طالباً منه ان يرميها في البئر، لكن الفتى لم يحتمل فكرة رمي نقوده داخل البئر فهي ثمرة تعبه وجهود يوم كامل وقال لأبيه :لا يا ابي لا استطيع فعل ذلك، لقد عملتُ النهار بطوله لأكسب هذا المال وانت الان تطلب مني رميه في البئر!!. ابتسم الاب وقال: الان ادركت انك عَملتَ حقاً وكسبت نقودك من عرق جبينك لذلك عزّ عليك رميها. وهكذا تعلم الصبي درساً عن أهمية العمل وكسب قوته بيده بعيداً عن ثراء ابويه.
