English to Spanish Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Packing

¡Hola! Necesito ayuda con este término y no creo que se pueda traducir como mancha ocular o algo parecido en este contexto. Es una parte de una máquina para empacar y en el documento que estoy traduciendo aparece como sigue:

"Scanner not lined up with eye-spot", "Improper cutoff length between eyespots".

En un diccionario técnico encontré la siguiente definición:
"An eyespot is a small rectangular printed area (usually of contrasting color to the background) located near the edge of a web or design. The eyespot reader is triggered by the eyespot as the web passes by, to control register of the printed design with subsequent form, fill or seal equipment or operations."

Pero no tengo idea de cómo se dice esa cosa en español. ¿Alguien me podría ayudar? Gracias de antemano.
