As a life-long lover and learner of French I really want to maintain my linguistic ability. Whilst I have never undertaken specialist translation and interpreting studies and training at university I always really enjoyed these disciplines at both degree and post-graduate level. I have an MA in Applied Languages for Business (French, Italian ab initio) from Ulster University (1997/2001). I completed a PGCE in Key Stages 2and 3 with French at Newcastle University in 2004 with 10 years of teaching under my belt. Whilst my working experiences lie largely in education I also have experience of the travel industry and general office administration. I currently work in retail and customer service.
To help develop my fluency in French further, I have undertaken modules of general study at the Institut Francais in South Kensington.
I am interested in gaining translation experience and working towards obtaining specialist qualification(s). The areas of translation, proof-reading, checking, sub-titling and even voice-overs interest me the most.
