Source text - English O Natal remete à duas ideias importantes, ao nascimento de uma criança especial, e à comemoração do nascimento dessa criança por outras famílias, que não a dela. No ato de fazer essa comemoração essas famílias conseguem reunir um número maior de pessoas, preparam algumas guloseimas, e preparam o ambiente mais acolhedor possível para esse momento tão especial.
Dentre essas guloseimas os biscoitos sempre estiveram lá, como símbolo de simplicidade, mas representando também o reconhecimento do trabalho do Papai Noel e seu esforço, ao deixar alguns biscoitos preparados exclusivamente para ele.
Devido à natureza do momento, não pode ser uma embalagem qualquer. Tem algo que não vá ser jogado no lixo. Algo que possa ser guardado, colecionado, e usado, e que, cada vez que for usado, remeta a essas lembranças de aconchego e família.
A única embalagem capaz de fazer isso são as antigas latas decoradas de biscoitos. Elas remetem ao seu conteúdo original, e ao momento em que foram adquiridas e consumidas, mesmo que estejam sendo usadas para guardar fotos antigas ou parafusos.
No Brasil hoje temos a barca "Santa Edwiges" que ainda produz esse tipo de embalagem com muito bom gosto, e todos que ganham uma lata dessas se sentem lembrados e queridos, apesar de não ser um iPhone ou outro aparato tecnológico.
Vou citar dois exemplos de tecnologias que poderiam criar um ar futurista nessa embalagem, sem tirar dela a nostalgia dos natais passados; cartões de natal musicais, e hologramas.
Com o avanço cada vez maior da tecnologia, esses recursos poderiam ser inseridos no relevo decorativo das latas que passariam, assim, a contar com recursos audiovisuais interessantíssimos e de bom gosto.

Como mostra o link acima, mesmo uma imagem simples, projetada de forma holográfica pode ter um impacto visual/emocional muito grande tanto para as crianças quanto para os adultos presentes.
A empresa poderia providenciar um personagem adequado, como um dos anões que ajudam Papai Noel a preparar e entregar os presentes, para contar uma, e apenas uma, estória de natal. Cada lata estaria habilitada para contar uma estória diferente.
A lata também poderia dispor de bluetooth, ou similar, para exibir em holografia imagens ou montagens familiares, com fundo musical natalino. Uma simples e pequena "bateria do futuro" será suficiente para fazer tudo funcionar por uma ou duas horas, ou um sistema de carregamento wireless, como o dos atuais smartphones.
Reparem que tudo isso faz com que a lata de biscoitos vire um centro de atenção de um dos momentos mais importantes da família, a reunião de Natal.
Os biscoitos ficariam dispostos em embalagens menores, de papel delicado, como que tubos, numa espécie de colméia dentro da lata, impedindo assim que os "tubos" de biscoitos fiquem soltos dentro da lata. Uma lata pequena poderia ter 8 "tubos" de biscoitos, uma grande 24 "tubos" por exemplo. Cada tubo teria de 6 a 8 biscoitos Oreo. Uma lata grande teria biscoitos para uma família bem grande.
Assim como no filme "O Homem Bicentenário" onde relógios "Cuco" de madeira tem altíssimo valor agregado, aqui também essas latas colecionáveis tendem a se tornar relíquias queridas desses momentos únicos.
Ao mesmo tempo em que são tecnologicamente avançadas, essas embalagens remetem à algo clássico´, simples, aconchegante, que nossos pais e avós vão apreciar muito.
Os motivos natalinos podem ser desde a representação do Papai Noel, até a estilização do nascimento de Jesus, mas sempre de forma minimalista, simples, e de muito bom gosto. Certamente os designers poderão oferecer opções, centenas delas, que preencham esses requisitos, quando necessário. A Oreo deveria contar com ambas as artes em suas embalagens. É simples assim.
Dentre as estórias contadas pelos recursos tecnológicos da lata, poderiam estar o surgimento do Papai Noel, e sua importância para o Natal, por exemplo. Obviamente, a história do nascimento de Jesus, simplificada e adequada para crianças, nesse momento de aconchego familiar, também.
Essa é uma das propostas de embalagens para os biscoitos Oreo em 2030. A outra é a mesma lata, mas sem qualquer recurso tecnológico audiovisual. A lata clássica de biscoitos natalinos. Citando novamente o filme "O Homem Bicentenário", o alto valor dos relógios de madeira que ele produzia se devia especialmente por serem artesanais num mundo extremamente tecnológico.
Eu realmente acredito que, quanto mais avançarmos tecnologicamente, maior será o valor do artesanal, e parte disso será justamente pela sua raridade, porque menos pessoas estarão investindo nessa proposta "contra-tecnológica", mas que também é importante para nossa vida seja mais rica.
Por mais incríveis que sejam nossas canetas, um simples lápis sempre terá seu valor.
Eu realmente espero ter passado uma ideia geral clara das duas embalagens propostas, uma tecnológica, outra não. Adoraria receber um feedback do que acharam.

Translation - Portuguese Christmas reminds us of two important ideas, the birth of a special child, and the celebration of this birth by other families, not his. In the act of celebration, those families manage to reunite most of them, prepare sweetmeats, and set the coziest environment possible for such a special date.
Cookies were always among those goodies, as a symbol of fun and simplicity, but also as an appreciation to Santa Claus's effort.
Due to the nature of the moment, it can't be any package. It has to be not disposable. Something that may be saved, collected, and used, and each time used, take us back to those cozy memories with all the family.
The only package able to do this is the old collectible cookie cans. They always remind us of your original content and when they were acquired, consumed, even if they're being used to store old photographs or nails and bolts.
In Brazil we have the "Santa Edwiges" brand witch still uses these cans with a very nice touch, and everyone who wins one of them feels remembered and loved, despite not being an iPhone or other tech stuff.

With the fast advance of technology, these features could be used inserted in the decorative embossing of the cans which, thus, will count with audio and visual interesting effects.
As it shows in the link above, even a simple image, projected in a holographic way, could have a very big visual/emotional impact to children and adults.
The Co. could provide an adequate character, one of the dwarfs who help Santa to prepare and deliver the presents, for example, to tell one, and only one, by can, Christmas story. Each can would be set to tell a different story.
The can could have Bluetooth too, or similar, to show holographic images or edited images from a smartphone, for example. A very simple and small replaceable "battery of the future" will be sufficient to make it all work for a couple of hours, or a wireless charging system, as our modern smartphones.
Note that all of this makes the cookie can a center point of focus of one of the most important moments of the family, the Christmas reunion.
The cookies will be disposable in smaller delicate packages, like tubes, in a honeycomb pattern inside the can, avoiding damaging them. A small can could have 8 "tubes", while a big one could have 24 tubes. Each tube will have 6 to 8 Oreo cookies. A big can will have cookies enough for a big family.
Like the film "The Bicentennial Man", where "Cuco" wall watches, made of wood, have much market value, here these collectible cans could become cherished relics from these unique moments.
At the same time, these cans are tech advanced and classic, simple, and cozy, and these are very appreciated thins for families.
The Christmas inspiration could be from Santa itself to the very birth of Jesus, but always in a minimalist, simple and tasteful style. I'm sure the designers will provide hundreds of options to fill these requirements, at the right time.
Between the stories stored in the cans, there could be the appearance of Santa Claus as a Christmas symbol. Obviously, the birth of Jesus itself, simplified and set for children, too.
The other is the same can, but ripped off of every piece of tech. The classic Christmas cookie can. Quoting again the book "The bicentennial man", the high market value of those wooden watches was because they were artisanal, craft, stuff, almost counter-tech stuff.
I really do believe that as much we evolve technologically, bigger will be the value of craftwork and artisanal things, and that´s because of your rarity. Fewer people will be dedicating their lines of production to non-tech stuff, despite their importance to our life quality.
Incredible as it may seem our pens, a simple pencil will always have your value, rising as it becomes rarer and rarer.
Oreo should have both options in your line of packages. It's simple as that.

When in the Navy, I used to teach my colleagues, and manage the issues in communication with other ships on International Operations, mostly with the USA.
I helped to solve a tech issue with the Harris Transmitters at Record Television, at Rio de Janeiro, which endure several weeks, translating the tech manuals and contacting the Co. at Illinois, EUA.
I offer myself as a translator to the International Conference for the Environment "Rio+20", in 2012, when I was responsible for helping solve problems for around 200 people.
I also worked as a bilingual attendant at a 5-star hotel for a while.
