I am German by birth and nationality, and German is also my native tongue - the Arabic name I adopted after becoming a Muslim in Pakistan in 1975.
Since then I have been living mainly in Pakistan, and also got married there in 1986.
During the last 40 + years I did a lot of interpreting and translating (mainly between Urdu, English and German) free-lance as well as professionally. Besides that I have also been working as an ESL and German teacher in language institutes in the past, as well as writing articles as a freelance contributor for Pakistani Magazines.
In the more recent past, my activities have been mainly non-commercial. I authored and published two books related to religion and spirituality apart from a considerable number of articles and blogs (of the same thematic) on-line.
Besides German, English and Urdu, I have a fairly good working knowledge of classical Arabic, and have as matter of completed several literary projects from Arabic to English, respectively German. I also have some working knowledge of French and Spanish.
I can comfortably handle general subject matter to and from German,English, and from Urdu.
I have handled medical, biological, legal, commercial and technical material in the past, but at present my work deals mainly with religion, spirituality, social and psychological concerns.
My rates depend on subject matter, job nature and deadline (I detest rush jobs), but are generally very competitive, and there is always a scope for negotiation.
Under normal circumstances I am available daily for 6 hrs. |
