English term

testament

English Art/Literary Linguistics
is this the new spelling of testimony maybe?
Jeff Pino, Senior Vice President of [Sikorsky] Marketing and Commercial Programs remarked after the ceremony that "after taking delivery of the first production S-92 last year, PHI demonstrated its confidence in the S-92 by ordering additional aircraft and just accepting delivery of its fourth. This is a strong testament to the safety and productivity of the S-92 along with our ability to support the launching of a new aircraft type."
The several dictionaries I have checked say impossible.

Yes, good point: testimony TO, testament TO, but proof OF (though "proof to the fact" is also common).
agree RHELLER : I would use the term support rather than proof and it is related to testimony

Witness to the fact

This is what they mean and although we do not use it a lot, it is correct.
