Discussion

Refugio Nov 20, 2005:
Unless the "docentes' are student teachers, which I don't think is necessarily implied by the context, the head teacher would not be called a supervising teacher in US English.
Henry Hinds Nov 20, 2005:
Whatever title you choose in English will have to reflect the functions as commonly expressed in both languages. "Supervising teacher" appears to fit a student teaching situation in both languages; however I don't know if that is actually the situation.
Henry Hinds Nov 20, 2005:
I'm sure the person would have a teaching degree, but the best context would be to have an idea of the situation. What kind of document, where from? Destination of translation? What are this person's other functions?
Alex Crichton (asker) Nov 20, 2005:
"Pedagogic diplomee" is a term I slapped together for the recipient of a diploma in pedagogy, and referred to the master tutor suggestion. What else would be helpful by way of CONTEXT?
Henry Hinds Nov 20, 2005:
You'd have to provide a lot more CONTEXT on that, all I can provide is what I found with a bit of quick researh. (What is a "pedagogic diplomee"?)
Alex Crichton (asker) Nov 20, 2005:
I'm assuming here that "maestro tutor" is not an pedagogic diplomee, but rather a particular teacher out of several a child in 7th grade may have; presumably it refers to their main teacher.

supervising teacher

Results 1 - 10 of about 112,000 for "supervising teacher".

It appears that a popular term for this is "supervising teacher", the teacher who actually supervises a student teacher at the school where student teaching practicum is being performed.

My research has only been superficial, so I advise that you do more, but I've given you a good starting point.
