\'divorce\', \'dissolution of marriage\' and \'decree absolute\' as translations of Äktenskapsskillnad - this would suggest the court ruling is a final decision rather than the initiation of the process - however, it is not until the ruling \'vinner laga kraft\' i.e. comes into force, that the marriage is actually dissolved.

: This is most usual in English Law and would not be wrong in most other contexts. Where in the world are your divorcees? It might make a difference!

: Yes - you can't really tell whether it's decree nisi or decree absolute from what I can see, as 'domslut' could apply to either - it signifies a court decision as far as I know.
