Slovak term

odhienujuci ucinok

Non-PRO Slovak to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Is one of purported benefits of the Tilia tea. Please translate to plain english if possible (acompanied with medical term would be perfect).

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com (asker) Mar 8, 2006:
Neither one or the other. I am contributing this to wikipedia, so the plain english is required.
Radovan Pletka Mar 3, 2006:
Are you translating this or writing a marketing copy, which you want to win a Nobel price for literature? Those two are very different animals.

Helps clear congested throats

'helps clear congested throats' would be a plain English expression.

Thanks Lucia. For the technical term, which I didn't have time to enter yesterday, I would go with 'cough expectorant'. (There are two types of cough medicine: "cough expectorant" and "cough supressant.")

"A cough expectorant that helps clear congested throats, sinuses and
bronchial passages."

"A cough expectorant, it helps clear congested throats, sinuses and passages."
Note from asker:
I consider this translation the most plain what I like. However, the throat is not the only area where mucus expectoration is desired. E.g., the tea may be effective during sinus infections or bronchitis. I would like to keep this generality. This is clearly said by all the above translaition but can anybody think of something more plain?

agree Lucia [Lulu] Lay : As plain as it gets.
