opposing endpoints, devices at the other end
I think they are asking that a network diagram be provided that includes the network devices or nodes at the other end of the network.
For example, a typical leased circuit based link might have a router with 2 or more interfaces and some type of serial link termination equipment connected to one of the interfaces. They might be asking what's on the other end of the leased circuit connection.
---internal interface ---router --- external interface --- termination equipment --- ???
(They would be asking for the ???).

regarding 外部 this is because the other devices are external to the managed network.

Comment: "I truly appeciate Kurt's input about the background of the configuration. I guess it's defnitely a device or devices in an opposed position outside of the current network. On the other hand, upon consideration for a while, I guess "demote end device" by cinefil-san may also be applicable depending on situation. I thank you all for this matter. "

The nodes of different telecom providers may interoperate to provide access, call control, and services across a wide geographic area. For example, a wireless telephone, when roaming to a geographic location distant from its home location, may employ the access node of a different provider than the one the phone is subscribed to. When placing a wireless phone call from a home location to a distant location, call control nodes of both the home provider and a different service provider may be employed to complete the connection to the target of the call.
