Is there an idiom here that I'm missing? Here's the whole phrase, taken from a Mozambican magazine article:
"Mas todos esses argumentos e outros tão válidos, à luz do Sol como noutras, não têm encontrado enquadramento na política daquela instituição."

My translation moves away from a literal approach involving "light", but I think this is the idea. The arguments, no matter what light they are seen in, have no place in the policies of XXXX.

But in the clear light of day, a lot of stuff in that movie doesn't stand up. I don't think it had any more or less ridiculous developments than your ...
