Question Two (2/3): The construction 到城外玩玩 appears to fit the more general pattern 到Ａ去 where Ａis an intended destination and where 去 can be replaced by any verb expressing an activity that will take place at that destination. Is this a correct interpretation of this construction.

Acknowledgment: I would like to thank both Zhongren and Communease for their contributions. Zhongren's insight with regard to the expressions "just play" and "play" was useful. Whereas an adult would be inclined to say "just play" to express the idea of having fun, a child would not be so inclined.
Also, the words "country" and "countryside" are interchangeable in this context. One often refers to the country and the city as opposites.
